How To Properly Measure Your Head For A Custom-Fitted Wig

There are many reasons for hair loss, and wearing a wig is one way to deal with it.

There are many reasons for hair loss, and wearing a wig is one way to deal with it. Custom fitted wigs can come in a verity of different sizes. From petite wigs to average and larger wigs, Wigs and Hair Solutions offers cap sizes to fit every single kind of head. But how do you know which kind is the proper fit for you? The answer is simple. Follow this step by step guide to learn how to measure your head for your brand new custom-fitted wig correctly.

Step 1

Begin by pulling your hair up and away from your face and securing it with a clip or hairband. If your hair is shorter, try using a cloth headband to hold your hair back.

Step 2

Use some flexible measuring tape, then place the tape around the back of your head, brushing the base of your head at a point where the wig stops and pull it toward right over your ears. Place the end of the tape around the mid-point of the front of your hairline. This will measure your head’s circumference. Write this down for later reference for your custom-fitted wig.

Step 3

Using that flexible tape measure, position the end of the tape just above one ear. Pull this across the top of your head, stopping at the top of your other ear. Hold the tape measure very firmly in the spot right above your ear and look at the measurement. This will measure your ear to ear distance. Write this down for your custom-fitted wig measurement.

Step 4

If your hair is up, then let it down. Using some flexible tape measure, position the end of the tape in the center of your forehead. Pull the tape measure down the center of your head until you reach the nape of your neck. Hold this tape measure firmly in the spot where it meets your nape and check out the measurement. This will measure your front to back distance.

Step 5

Once you’ve had your head measured fully, reference the numbers in the size chart to find the custom wig capsize that’s right for you. The experts at Wigs and Hair Solutions would be more than happy to help you in finding the right kind of wig for you as well!
